Dear players, supporters and parents of St Bernard's Old Collegians Cricket Club,
This season, in Round 7 of our VSDCA fixture with Kew Cricket Club, SBOCCC will be taking part in the "Pride Cup".
The Pride Cup is a celebration of diversity and a chance to show the community that everyone is welcome to play our sport. It is an opportunity for us to broaden the reach of our message that SBOCCC is a club for all to come and be a part of.
The Pride Cup is also more than just a game of cricket. It is going to involve all four Saturday sides from both clubs coming together to hold a joint training session on the Tuesday before the match, followed by an information session.
There will be a match day event on day one at both SBOCCC and KCC so supporters too can take part in this ground-breaking event. We believe it is the first match of its kind in mens cricket in Australia. The match will be promoted and live-streamed on various social media platforms.
The club is hoping to change its uniform for the match to get into the spirit of the event and welcomes any donations to help fund this initiative. All donations are fully tax deductible.
Our junior players will be invited to join in and club coaches will have some details.
We look forward to the SBOCCC community joining with the players in supporting this positive movement - an event that will be held annually, and hopefully can build to having its own round in the VSDCA.
